Gulsin Onay is a renowned classical pianist from Turkey, known for her virtuosic performances and interpretations of the works of great composers such as Beethoven, Chopin, and Rachmaninoff. Born on September 12, 1954, in Istanbul, Turkey, Onay began playing the piano at the age of three and gave her first public performance at the age of six. Onay's musical talent was recognized early on, and she was accepted into the Istanbul State Conservatory at the age of seven. She studied under the tutelage of Mithat Fenmen, a prominent Turkish pianist and composer, and later went on to study with other renowned pianists such as Wilhelm Kempff and Carl Seemann. In 1970, she won first prize at the Young Concert Artists International Auditions in New York, which launched her international career.
