Simon Joly was born on May 15, 1985, in Paris, France. He grew up in a family of musicians, with his mother being a pianist and his father a cellist. From a young age, Joly showed a natural talent for music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Joly's parents recognized his potential and enrolled him in the Conservatoire de Paris at the age of six. He studied under some of the most renowned piano teachers in France, including Jean-Marc Luisada and Brigitte Engerer. Joly's dedication and hard work paid off, and he quickly became one of the most promising young pianists in the country. In 2001, Joly won first prize at the prestigious Concours International de Piano d'Epinal, a competition for young pianists under the age of 18. This was a major milestone in his career and opened up many doors for him. He went on to win several other competitions, including the Concours International de Piano de Lyon and the Concours International de Piano de Brest. Joly's talent and hard work also earned him a scholarship to study at the Juilliard School in New York City. In 2005, Joly made his debut at Carnegie Hall, one of the most prestigious concert halls in the world. He performed Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5 with the Juilliard Orchestra, receiving rave reviews from critics and audiences alike. This performance was a major turning point in Joly's career and established him as a rising star in the classical music world. Over the next few years, Joly continued to perform at major concert halls around the world, including the Royal Albert Hall in London, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the Sydney Opera House. He also collaborated with some of the most renowned conductors and orchestras in the world, including the New York Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the Berlin Philharmonic. Joly's repertoire is vast and includes works by some of the greatest composers in history, including Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, and Rachmaninoff.
