Anna di Stasio was born on May 12, 1985, in Naples, Italy. She grew up in a family of musicians, with her father being a renowned pianist and her mother a soprano. From a young age, Anna showed a natural talent for music and began studying the piano at the age of four. As she grew older, Anna's passion for music only intensified, and she began to explore other instruments, including the violin and cello. However, it was the harp that captured her heart, and she began studying the instrument at the age of ten. Anna's dedication to her craft was evident from the start, and she quickly became one of the most promising young harpists in Italy. She won numerous competitions and awards, including first prize at the prestigious International Harp Competition in Salzburg, Austria, at the age of 16. After completing her studies at the Conservatory of Naples, Anna began performing professionally, both as a soloist and as a member of various orchestras and ensembles. Her talent and artistry quickly gained her a reputation as one of the most exciting young musicians in Europe. In 2008, Anna was invited to perform at the prestigious Lucerne Festival in Switzerland, where she received critical acclaim for her performance of Debussy's "Danses sacrée et profane." This performance marked a turning point in Anna's career, as it led to numerous other high-profile engagements and collaborations with some of the world's most renowned conductors and orchestras. Over the years, Anna has performed at some of the most prestigious concert halls and festivals in the world, including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Royal Albert Hall in London, and the Berlin Philharmonic. She has also collaborated with some of the most celebrated musicians of our time, including Yo-Yo Ma, Lang Lang, and Plácido Domingo. Anna's repertoire is vast and varied, ranging from classical masterpieces to contemporary works. She is particularly known for her interpretations of the music of Debussy, Ravel, and Britten, as well as her innovative arrangements of traditional folk music from around the world. In addition to her performing career, Anna is also a dedicated teacher and mentor. She has taught masterclasses and workshops all over the world, and many of her students have gone on to successful careers as professional musicians. Throughout her career, Anna has received numerous awards and accolades for her artistry and contributions to the world of classical music. In 2012, she was awarded the prestigious Italian National Prize for the Arts, and in 2016, she was named a Knight of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic. Despite her many accomplishments, Anna remains humble and dedicated to her craft. She continues to push the boundaries of what is possible on the harp, and her passion for music is evident in every note she plays.
