Ivan Anguelov was born on May 5, 1985, in Sofia, Bulgaria. He grew up in a family of musicians, with his father being a pianist and his mother a violinist. From a young age, Ivan showed a natural talent for music and began playing the piano at the age of four. At the age of six, Ivan began studying at the National School of Music in Sofia, where he received a rigorous classical music education. He quickly became recognized as a prodigy, winning numerous competitions and awards throughout his childhood and teenage years. In 2003, Ivan was accepted into the prestigious Juilliard School in New York City, where he studied under the tutelage of renowned pianist Emanuel Ax.
