Enno Senft was born on May 12, 1985, in Berlin, Germany. He grew up in a family of musicians, with his father being a cellist and his mother a pianist. From a young age, Enno showed a keen interest in music and began playing the cello at the age of six. Enno's talent was quickly recognized, and he began studying at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin at the age of 14. He continued his studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, where he received his diploma with distinction in 2008. Throughout his studies, Enno participated in numerous competitions and won several awards, including first prize at the International Cello Competition in Liezen, Austria, in 2003, and the Grand Prix at the International Cello Competition in Markneukirchen, Germany, in 2005. Enno's career as a professional musician began in 2008 when he was appointed principal cellist of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra. He held this position for four years before deciding to pursue a solo career. Enno's solo career took off in 2012 when he won first prize at the International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow, one of the most prestigious competitions in the classical music world. This win catapulted Enno to international fame, and he began performing regularly in major concert halls around the world. Enno's performances are known for their technical brilliance and emotional depth. He has a particular affinity for the works of Bach, and his performances of the Bach cello suites are considered some of the best in the world. In addition to his solo career, Enno is also a dedicated chamber musician. He has collaborated with some of the world's leading musicians, including pianist Martha Argerich and violinist Maxim Vengerov. Enno's recordings have received critical acclaim, and he has won several awards, including the Echo Klassik Award for his recording of the Bach cello suites in 2014.
