Born on January 1, 1946, in Barcelona, Spain, Colomer showed an early interest in music and began playing the flute at the age of eight. He studied at the Conservatori Superior de Música del Liceu in Barcelona and later at the Paris Conservatory, where he honed his skills as a flutist. Colomer began his career as a flutist, performing with various orchestras in Spain and France. He was a member of the Orchestre de Paris from 1972 to 1975 and played under the direction of renowned conductors such as Herbert von Karajan and Daniel Barenboim. In 1975, Colomer was appointed principal flutist of the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra, a position he held for ten years.
