Carlin's parents recognized his potential and enrolled him in the Conservatory of Milan, where he received formal training in music. He studied under the guidance of some of the most renowned music teachers in Italy, including Franco Scala and Piero Rattalino. Carlin's dedication and hard work paid off, and he graduated with honors from the Conservatory. After completing his studies, Carlin began his professional career as a pianist. He performed in various concerts and recitals across Italy, showcasing his exceptional talent and skill. His performances were well-received by audiences and critics alike, and he soon gained a reputation as one of the most promising young pianists in Italy. In 1998, Carlin won the prestigious Busoni International Piano Competition, which was held in Bolzano, Italy. The competition is one of the most renowned piano competitions in the world and attracts some of the most talented pianists from around the globe. Carlin's victory at the competition was a significant milestone in his career and helped him gain international recognition. Following his success at the Busoni International Piano Competition, Carlin was invited to perform in various concerts and festivals across Europe and the United States. He performed in some of the most prestigious concert halls in the world, including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Royal Albert Hall in London, and the Berlin Philharmonic.
