She was born into a family of musicians, and her father, Boris Bekov, was a famous violinist. Her mother, Valentina Bekova, was a pianist, and her sister, Elvira Bekova, was a cellist. From a young age, Alfia was exposed to classical music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Alfia's talent was evident from a young age, and she began performing in public at the age of six. She studied at the Moscow Conservatory, where she was taught by renowned pianists such as Yakov Flier and Lev Vlassenko. She graduated with honors in 1970 and went on to pursue a career as a concert pianist. Throughout her career, Alfia Bekova performed in some of the world's most prestigious concert halls, including the Royal Albert Hall in London, the Carnegie Hall in New York, and the Salle Pleyel in Paris. She was known for her virtuosic performances and her ability to bring out the emotional depth of the music she played.
