Born in Germany in 1969, Avenhaus began playing the piano at the age of five and quickly showed a natural aptitude for the instrument. She went on to study at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hannover, where she received her diploma with distinction. Avenhaus has since established herself as one of the most accomplished pianists of her generation, with a career spanning over three decades. She has performed extensively throughout Europe, Asia, and North America, collaborating with some of the world's leading orchestras and conductors. One of Avenhaus's most notable performances was her debut with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra in 1995, where she played Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 23 in A major. The performance was widely praised for its technical precision and emotional depth, and marked the beginning of Avenhaus's rise to international acclaim. Since then, Avenhaus has performed with many other prestigious orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the New York Philharmonic, and the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra. She has also collaborated with renowned conductors such as Sir Simon Rattle, Daniel Barenboim, and Zubin Mehta. In addition to her work as a soloist, Avenhaus is also a dedicated chamber musician.
