He continued his studies at the Amsterdam Conservatory, where he was taught by some of the most distinguished cellists of the time, including Carel van Leeuwen Boomkamp and Tibor de Machula. After completing his studies, Visser embarked on a successful career as a soloist, chamber musician, and teacher. He performed extensively throughout Europe, Asia, and North America, collaborating with some of the most renowned conductors and orchestras of the time. One of the highlights of Visser's career was his performance of the Elgar Cello Concerto with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in Amsterdam in 1972. The performance was widely acclaimed, and Visser was praised for his sensitive interpretation of the piece. He was a founding member of the Schönberg Ensemble, a group dedicated to performing contemporary music, and he also performed regularly with the Netherlands Wind Ensemble.
