The Kölner Rundfunk-Sinfonie-Orchester (Cologne Radio Symphony Orchestra) is a renowned classical music ensemble based in Cologne, Germany. The orchestra was founded in 1947 by the Westdeutscher Rundfunk (WDR), a public broadcasting corporation in Germany. The WDR aimed to create a professional orchestra that would perform and broadcast classical music to a wide audience.
