One of Toet's most notable performances came in 2002, when he performed the world premiere of Tan Dun's "Water Concerto" with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. The piece, which features a wide range of water-inspired percussion instruments, was written specifically for Toet, and his performance was widely praised for its technical brilliance and musical sensitivity. Toet's career continued to flourish throughout the 2000s, and he received numerous awards and accolades for his performances. In 2005, he was awarded the Dutch Music Prize, the highest honor for a classical musician in the Netherlands.
