Born on 28th June 1924 in Dublin, Ireland, Denis showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of six. Denis received his formal music education at the Royal Irish Academy of Music in Dublin, where he studied under the tutelage of renowned pianist Frank Heneghan. He also studied with the famous pianist and composer, Sergei Rachmaninoff, during his time in the United States. Denis's talent as a pianist was quickly recognized, and he began performing in public at a young age. He made his debut performance at the age of 12, playing Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 20 in D minor with the Dublin Symphony Orchestra. This performance was a huge success, and it marked the beginning of Denis's career as a professional musician. Throughout his career, Denis performed in some of the world's most prestigious concert halls, including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Royal Albert Hall in London, and the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.
