Isabelle Poulenard is a French soprano who has made a name for herself in the world of classical music. Born on December 16, 1957, in Paris, France, Poulenard grew up in a family of musicians. Her father was a composer and her mother was a pianist, so it was only natural that she would develop a love for music at a young age. Poulenard began her musical training at the Conservatoire National de Région de Paris, where she studied voice and piano. She later continued her studies at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, where she received a first prize in singing. In 1980, Poulenard made her professional debut at the Opéra de Paris in the role of Barbarina in Mozart's "The Marriage of Figaro." This performance marked the beginning of a long and successful career for the young soprano. Over the years, Poulenard has performed in some of the world's most prestigious opera houses and concert halls, including the Royal Opera House in London, the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, and the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris. She has also collaborated with some of the most renowned conductors and orchestras in the world, including Sir John Eliot Gardiner, William Christie, and the English Baroque Soloists. One of Poulenard's most notable performances was her portrayal of the title role in Rameau's "Les Indes Galantes" at the Opéra de Paris in 1987.
