The Minetti Quartett is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 2003 in Vienna, Austria. The quartet consists of four members: violinists Maria Ehmer and Anna Knopp, violist Milan Milojicic, and cellist Leonhard Roczek. The ensemble has gained international recognition for their dynamic performances and innovative interpretations of classical music. The quartet's founding members, Maria Ehmer and Anna Knopp, met while studying at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. They were later joined by Milan Milojicic and Leonhard Roczek, who were also studying at the university. The quartet's name is a tribute to the famous Austrian violinist and conductor, Wolfgang Minetti. The Minetti Quartett has performed at some of the world's most prestigious concert halls, including the Konzerthaus in Vienna, the Wigmore Hall in London, and the Carnegie Hall in New York. They have also performed at numerous music festivals, such as the Salzburg Festival, the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, and the Rheingau Music Festival. One of the quartet's most notable performances was their debut at the Salzburg Festival in 2006, where they performed works by Mozart, Beethoven, and Schubert. The performance was met with critical acclaim, and the quartet was praised for their technical precision and emotional depth. In 2011, the Minetti Quartett won the prestigious ECHO Klassik award for their recording of Schubert's String Quartets Nos. 13 and 14. The ECHO Klassik is one of the most prestigious awards in classical music, and is awarded annually by the German Phono Academy to honor outstanding achievements in the field. The quartet has also collaborated with some of the world's most renowned musicians, including pianist Elisabeth Leonskaja and cellist Clemens Hagen.
