Matthias Schorn is a renowned Austrian clarinetist who has made a name for himself in the world of classical music. Born on August 23, 1980, in Linz, Austria, Schorn grew up in a family of musicians. His father was a clarinetist, and his mother was a pianist. Schorn started playing the clarinet at the age of six and quickly showed a natural talent for the instrument. Schorn's early musical education was at the Bruckner Conservatory in Linz, where he studied with Johann Hindler. He later went on to study at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna with Peter Schmidl, the former principal clarinetist of the Vienna Philharmonic. Schorn's talent was evident from an early age, and he quickly gained recognition as one of the most promising young clarinetists in Austria. Schorn's career took off in 2003 when he won the prestigious ARD International Music Competition in Munich. This competition is one of the most prestigious music competitions in the world and is open to musicians under the age of 30.
