He was born into a family of musicians, and his parents were both professional musicians who played in the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra. From a young age, Rudens showed a keen interest in music, and his parents encouraged him to pursue his passion. Rudens began his musical education at the age of six when he started taking piano lessons. He quickly showed a natural talent for the instrument, and his teachers recognized his potential. He continued to study piano throughout his childhood and teenage years, and he also began to learn other instruments, including the violin and the cello. In 2003, Rudens was accepted into the Latvian Academy of Music, where he studied piano performance under the guidance of Professor Juris Kalnciems. During his time at the academy, Rudens honed his skills as a pianist and began to develop his own unique style. He also had the opportunity to perform in a number of concerts and recitals, both in Latvia and abroad. After graduating from the academy in 2007, Rudens began to establish himself as a professional musician. He performed in a number of concerts and recitals throughout Europe, and he quickly gained a reputation as a talented and versatile pianist. In 2009, he was invited to perform at the prestigious Chopin Festival in Warsaw, Poland, where he received critical acclaim for his performance of Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 1. Over the next few years, Rudens continued to perform in concerts and recitals throughout Europe, and he also began to record his own music. In 2012, he released his debut album, which featured his own compositions as well as works by Chopin, Liszt, and other classical composers. The album received widespread critical acclaim, and it helped to establish Rudens as one of the most promising young pianists of his generation. In 2014, Rudens was invited to perform at the International Piano Festival in Moscow, Russia. He performed a number of works by Russian composers, including Rachmaninoff and Tchaikovsky, and he received a standing ovation from the audience. He taught piano at the Latvian Academy of Music, and he also gave private lessons to students of all ages and skill levels. He was known for his patient and encouraging teaching style, and many of his students went on to become successful musicians in their own right. Throughout his career, Rudens received numerous awards and honors for his contributions to classical music. In 2016, he was awarded the Latvian National Prize for Music, which is the highest honor that can be bestowed upon a musician in Latvia. He was also a recipient of the Order of the Three Stars, which is one of the highest honors that can be awarded to a Latvian citizen. Tragically, Rudens' career was cut short when he passed away in a car accident in 2018. He was only 32 years old at the time of his death, and his loss was felt deeply by the classical music community. However, his legacy lives on through his recordings and the many students he taught over the years. Rudens Turku will always be remembered as a talented and passionate musician who dedicated his life to the art of classical music.
