Maxim Emelyanychev is a Russian-born classical music artist who has made a name for himself as a conductor, harpsichordist, and pianist. Born on May 28, 1988, in Moscow, Emelyanychev grew up in a family of musicians. His father, Alexei Emelyanychev, is a renowned conductor, while his mother, Olga Martynova, is a pianist. From a young age, Emelyanychev showed a keen interest in music and began studying the piano and harpsichord at the age of six. Emelyanychev's musical education began at the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory, where he studied piano and harpsichord. He later continued his studies at the Royal College of Music in London, where he studied conducting under the tutelage of Peter Stark and Colin Metters. During his time at the Royal College of Music, Emelyanychev won several awards, including the prestigious Tagore Gold Medal for outstanding contribution to the college. Emelyanychev's career as a conductor began in 2013 when he was appointed as the principal conductor of the Scottish Chamber Orchestra's youth orchestra. He quickly gained a reputation as a talented and innovative conductor, and in 2017, he was appointed as the principal conductor of the Scottish Chamber Orchestra.
