He also won the International Violin Competition in Hanover in 1996, cementing his reputation as one of the world's best violinists. In 2010, Ferlesch founded the Ferlesch Academy of Music in Graz, Austria. Ferlesch serves as the academy's director and continues to teach and mentor young musicians.
