Kirill Karabits is a Ukrainian conductor who has made a name for himself in the classical music world. Born on August 26, 1976, in Kiev, Ukraine, Karabits was exposed to music from a young age. His father, Ivan Karabits, was a renowned conductor and his mother, Natalia Karabits, was a pianist. Growing up in a musical family, Karabits was surrounded by music and was encouraged to pursue a career in music. Karabits began his musical education at the Lysenko Music School in Kiev, where he studied piano and conducting. He later went on to study at the National Tchaikovsky Music Academy in Kiev, where he received his degree in conducting. During his time at the academy, Karabits was mentored by his father, who helped him develop his skills as a conductor. After completing his studies, Karabits began his career as a conductor, working with various orchestras in Ukraine. In 2002, he was appointed as the principal conductor of the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, a position he held until 2005. During his time with the orchestra, Karabits gained a reputation for his innovative programming and his ability to bring out the best in the musicians. In 2005, Karabits moved to the United Kingdom, where he began working with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra as an assistant conductor. He quickly made a name for himself in the UK, and in 2009, he was appointed as the orchestra's principal conductor. During his time with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Karabits led the orchestra on several successful tours and recordings, including a critically acclaimed recording of Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 5. Karabits has also worked with several other orchestras around the world, including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the London Symphony Orchestra, the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra, and the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra.
