He grew up in a family of musicians, with his father being a renowned pianist and his mother a violinist. From a young age, Piva showed a natural talent for music and began studying the piano at the age of five. Piva's early musical education was heavily influenced by his father, who taught him the fundamentals of classical music and instilled in him a deep appreciation for the works of composers such as Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven. As Piva grew older, he began to develop his own unique style, blending classical techniques with modern influences to create a sound that was both innovative and timeless. In 1983, Piva graduated from the Conservatory of Milan with a degree in piano performance.
