Birth:May 25, 1984 in Kharkov, UkraineStanislav Khristenko is a Ukrainian classical pianist who has gained international recognition for his virtuosic performances and musical interpretations. Born on August 4, 1985, in Kiev, Ukraine, Khristenko showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of six. He received his first piano lessons from his mother, who was a professional pianist, and later studied at the Kiev Special Music School for Gifted Children. Khristenko's talent was quickly recognized, and he began to win numerous awards and competitions. In 2001, he won the First Prize at the International Piano Competition in Memory of Vladimir Horowitz, which was held in Kiev. This was followed by a series of other awards, including the First Prize at the International Piano Competition in Morocco in 2003 and the First Prize at the International Piano Competition in Spain in 2004. In 2005, Khristenko moved to the United States to continue his studies at the Cleveland Institute of Music, where he studied with Sergei Babayan. During his time in Cleveland, Khristenko won several major competitions, including the Cleveland International Piano Competition in 2013, which is one of the most prestigious piano competitions in the world. He also won the First Prize at the Maria Canals International Piano Competition in Barcelona in 2011 and the First Prize at the Schimmel USASU International Piano Competition in 2010. Khristenko's performances have been praised for their technical brilliance and emotional depth. He has performed with many of the world's leading orchestras, including the Cleveland Orchestra, the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra, the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, and the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra. He has also given recitals in major concert halls around the world, including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the Royal Albert Hall in London. In addition to his performances, Khristenko is also a dedicated teacher and has given masterclasses at many institutions around the world, including the Royal Academy of Music in London, the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, and the Moscow Conservatory. He is currently a faculty member at the Cleveland Institute of Music. He is particularly known for his interpretations of the music of Sergei Prokofiev, and has recorded several of Prokofiev's piano concertos with the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine. Khristenko's recordings have received critical acclaim and have been released on the Naxos, Steinway & Sons, and Oehms Classics labels. His recording of Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No. 2 was named "Editor's Choice" by Gramophone magazine, and his recording of Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No. 3 was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2018. In addition to his musical achievements, Khristenko is also a dedicated philanthropist and has been involved in several charitable organizations. He has worked with the International Red Cross to provide aid to victims of natural disasters, and has also supported organizations that provide music education to underprivileged children.
