Born in Bangkok, Thailand, on August 22, 1972, Annalee grew up in a family of musicians. Her father, a violinist, and her mother, a pianist, were both professors at the Mahidol University College of Music in Bangkok. Annalee's parents recognized her musical talent at a young age and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. Annalee began playing the violin at the age of three and gave her first public performance at the age of six. She continued her musical education at the Mahidol University College of Music, where she studied with renowned violinist Tasana Nagavajara. In 1989, Annalee moved to Canada to further her studies at the University of Toronto's Faculty of Music. During her time at the University of Toronto, Annalee studied with renowned violinist Lorand Fenyves. She also had the opportunity to perform with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and the National Youth Orchestra of Canada. In 1993, Annalee graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree and was awarded the prestigious Eaton Scholarship for Excellence in Performance. After completing her studies in Canada, Annalee moved to the United States to pursue a Master of Music degree at the Juilliard School in New York City. At Juilliard, Annalee studied with renowned violinist Dorothy DeLay and chamber music with Robert Mann. She also had the opportunity to perform with the Juilliard Orchestra and the New York String Orchestra. In 1995, Annalee graduated from Juilliard with a Master of Music degree. She then joined the St. Lawrence String Quartet, a renowned chamber music ensemble based in California. The quartet quickly gained recognition for their innovative programming and dynamic performances. They won the Banff International String Quartet Competition in 1996 and the Young Concert Artists International Auditions in 1997. As a member of the St. Lawrence String Quartet, Annalee has performed at major concert halls and festivals around the world, including Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the Edinburgh Festival. The quartet has also collaborated with renowned musicians such as pianist Menahem Pressler and cellist Yo-Yo Ma. In addition to her work with the St. Lawrence String Quartet, Annalee has also performed as a soloist with orchestras around the world.
