She was the daughter of a lawyer and a pianist, and her parents encouraged her to pursue music from a young age. Woytowicz began her musical studies at the Warsaw Conservatory, where she studied piano and voice. She later continued her studies at the State Higher School of Music in Krakow, where she studied with the renowned soprano Maria Kurenko. Woytowicz made her professional debut in 1946, singing the role of Micaela in Bizet's Carmen at the Krakow Opera. She quickly gained recognition for her powerful voice and expressive interpretations, and she soon became one of the leading sopranos in Poland. In 1949, she won first prize at the International Vocal Competition in Geneva, Switzerland, which helped to launch her international career. Throughout the 1950s and 1960s, Woytowicz performed extensively throughout Europe and the United States, singing with some of the world's leading orchestras and conductors. She was particularly renowned for her interpretations of the works of Mozart, Beethoven, and Schubert, and she was praised for her ability to convey the emotional depth and complexity of these composers' music. One of Woytowicz's most memorable performances was her portrayal of the Countess in Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro at the Salzburg Festival in 1957.
