Born in Sofia, Bulgaria in 1985, Petrova showed an early aptitude for music and began studying piano at the age of six. Her talent was quickly recognized, and she was accepted into the National School of Music in Sofia, where she studied with some of the country's most distinguished teachers. Petrova's early years were marked by a rigorous training regimen that emphasized technical mastery and musical expression. She spent countless hours practicing scales, arpeggios, and other exercises designed to develop her finger dexterity and control. At the same time, she immersed herself in the works of the great composers, studying their scores and listening to recordings of their music. Her dedication and hard work paid off, and she began to win prizes in local and national competitions. In 2003, Petrova was awarded a scholarship to study at the Royal Academy of Music in London, one of the world's most prestigious music schools. There, she worked with renowned pianists such as Christopher Elton and Joanna MacGregor, honing her skills and expanding her repertoire. She also had the opportunity to perform in some of London's most prestigious concert halls, including the Wigmore Hall and the Royal Festival Hall. She quickly gained a reputation for her technical brilliance and interpretive depth, and was invited to perform at some of the world's most prestigious venues, including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the Royal Albert Hall in London. She has also appeared as a soloist with many of the world's leading orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Moscow State Symphony Orchestra. Petrova's repertoire is wide-ranging and includes works by many of the great composers, from Bach and Mozart to Beethoven and Chopin. She is particularly known for her interpretations of the music of Sergei Rachmaninoff, a composer whose works require both technical virtuosity and emotional depth.
