Claret's time at the conservatory was marked by his exceptional talent and dedication to his craft. He won numerous awards and competitions, including the prestigious Rostropovich International Cello Competition in Paris in 1977. In addition to his career as a performer, Claret is also a respected teacher and mentor. He has taught at the Paris Conservatory, the Geneva Conservatory, and the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía in Madrid. He is currently a professor at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya in Barcelona, where he has mentored many of the world's most promising young cellists.
