Karol Szymanowski's "Paganini Caprices (3), Op. 40" is a set of three caprices for solo violin, composed in 1918. The work was premiered in Warsaw in 1924 by the Polish violinist Paweł Kochański, who was a close friend and collaborator of Szymanowski. The three movements of the "Paganini Caprices" are based on themes from Niccolò Paganini's famous 24 Caprices for Solo Violin.
