Born on June 28, 1977, in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada, Brueggergosman grew up in a musical family. Her mother was a choir director and her father was a jazz musician. Brueggergosman began singing in church choirs at a young age and quickly developed a love for music. Brueggergosman attended the University of Toronto, where she studied voice and opera. She also studied at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto and the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia. During her time at the Curtis Institute, Brueggergosman was mentored by renowned soprano Marilyn Horne. Brueggergosman made her professional debut in 2002, performing the role of the First Lady in Mozart's "The Magic Flute" with the Canadian Opera Company. She quickly gained recognition for her powerful voice and dynamic stage presence. In 2004, Brueggergosman won the prestigious Jeunesses Musicales International Montreal International Music Competition, which helped to launch her career. Over the years, Brueggergosman has performed with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the Berlin Philharmonic. She has also performed at some of the world's most renowned concert halls, including Carnegie Hall in New York City and the Royal Albert Hall in London. One of Brueggergosman's most memorable performances was at the opening ceremony of the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Canada.
