Andreas Ottensamer is a renowned classical clarinetist who has made a name for himself in the music industry with his exceptional talent and passion for music. Born on April 2, 1989, in Vienna, Austria, Ottensamer grew up in a family of musicians. His father, Ernst Ottensamer, was a clarinetist with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, and his mother, Albena Danailova, was a violinist with the same orchestra. His brother, Daniel Ottensamer, is also a clarinetist with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. Ottensamer began playing the clarinet at the age of four, and by the time he was six, he was already performing in public. He received his early music education at the Vienna Music School, where he studied under Professor Johann Hindler. He later went on to study at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, where he was mentored by Professor Leopold Wlach. In 2003, Ottensamer won the first prize at the International Clarinet Competition in Ghent, Belgium, which marked the beginning of his professional career. He went on to win several other awards, including the Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe Scholarship in 2004 and the Jeunesses Musicales International Competition in Bucharest in 2005. He held this position until 2013, during which time he performed in some of the most renowned concert halls in the world, including the Carnegie Hall in New York, the Royal Albert Hall in London, and the Suntory Hall in Tokyo. In addition to his work with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, Ottensamer has also performed as a soloist with many other orchestras, including the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra. He has collaborated with some of the most renowned conductors in the world, including Sir Simon Rattle, Daniel Barenboim, and Zubin Mehta. Ottensamer has also released several albums, including "Portraits - The Clarinet Album" in 2013, which features works by Mozart, Brahms, and Weber, among others. The album received critical acclaim and was nominated for the International Classical Music Awards in 2014. He also released "New Era" in 2018, which features works by composers such as Philip Glass and Arvo Pärt. In addition to his work as a performer, Ottensamer is also a passionate educator.
