He later went on to study at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory with Lev Naumov, one of the most respected piano teachers of the time. Prats also received guidance from other notable pianists, including Lazar Berman, György Sándor, and Nikita Magaloff. Throughout his career, Prats has been recognized for his exceptional talent and has won numerous awards and accolades. In 1977, he won first prize at the Marguerite Long-Jacques Thibaud International Piano Competition in Paris, one of the most prestigious piano competitions in the world. He also won first prize at the José Iturbi International Piano Competition in Valencia, Spain, in 1978.
