Born on 26th December 1970 in Sofia, Bulgaria, Vassilev showed an early interest in music and began playing the violin at the age of five. He was a child prodigy and quickly gained recognition for his exceptional talent. Vassilev's parents were both musicians, and they encouraged him to pursue a career in music. He received his early training at the National School of Music in Sofia, where he studied under the guidance of Professor Boyan Lechev. In 1985, Vassilev moved to London to continue his studies at the Yehudi Menuhin School.
