Rene Saorgin was a French classical music artist who was born on August 22, 1928, in Nice, France. He was a renowned oboist and conductor who made significant contributions to the world of classical music. Saorgin's passion for music began at a young age, and he started playing the oboe when he was just 12 years old. Saorgin's talent was quickly recognized, and he was accepted into the Conservatoire de Paris, where he studied under the guidance of Fernand Gillet. He graduated with a first prize in oboe in 1949 and went on to win the prestigious Prix de Rome in 1952. After completing his studies, Saorgin began his professional career as an oboist with the Orchestre National de France. He quickly gained a reputation as one of the finest oboists of his generation, and his performances were highly acclaimed by audiences and critics alike. In addition to his work as an oboist, Saorgin was also a talented conductor. He founded the Ensemble Instrumental de France in 1969, which he led for over 20 years.
