Ensemble Pian & Forte is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 2005 in Paris, France. The ensemble is known for its unique blend of piano and wind instruments, which creates a rich and dynamic sound that is both powerful and delicate. The founding members of Ensemble Pian & Forte were pianist Jean-Baptiste Doulcet and clarinetist Romain Millaud. Both musicians had a passion for chamber music and wanted to create an ensemble that would showcase the beauty and versatility of the piano and wind instruments. Over the years, Ensemble Pian & Forte has grown to include a number of talented musicians, including flutist Julien Beaudiment, oboist David Walter, bassoonist Laurent Lefèvre, and horn player Hervé Joulain. Each member of the ensemble brings their own unique style and expertise to the group, creating a cohesive and dynamic sound that is truly one-of-a-kind. One of the highlights of Ensemble Pian & Forte's career was their performance at the 2008 Festival de Radio France et Montpellier. The ensemble was invited to perform a program of works by Mozart, Beethoven, and Brahms, which was met with critical acclaim. The performance was broadcast on French radio and helped to establish Ensemble Pian & Forte as one of the premier chamber music ensembles in France. In addition to their performance at the Festival de Radio France et Montpellier, Ensemble Pian & Forte has also performed at a number of other prestigious venues and events. They have performed at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, the Salle Pleyel, and the Auditorium du Louvre, among others. They have also been invited to perform at a number of international music festivals, including the Festival de Musique de Menton and the Festival de Musique de La Chaise-Dieu. Ensemble Pian & Forte has also received a number of awards and accolades throughout their career. In 2010, they were awarded the Prix de la Critique de l'Académie Charles Cros for their album "Mozart: Quintettes avec clarinette." The album, which features works by Mozart performed by Ensemble Pian & Forte and clarinetist Michel Portal, was praised for its technical precision and emotional depth. Another notable award that Ensemble Pian & Forte has received is the Diapason d'Or de l'Année. This award is given annually by the French music magazine Diapason to the best classical music recordings of the year. Ensemble Pian & Forte received the award in 2012 for their album "Beethoven: Trios avec piano," which features works by Beethoven performed by pianist Jean-Baptiste Doulcet, violinist Renaud Capuçon, and cellist Gautier Capuçon. Ensemble Pian & Forte continues to be a leading force in the world of classical music. Their unique blend of piano and wind instruments, combined with their technical precision and emotional depth, has earned them a dedicated following of fans and critics alike. With each new performance and recording, Ensemble Pian & Forte continues to push the boundaries of what is possible in the world of chamber music.
