Born on August 24, 1977, in Delft, Netherlands, Stotijn grew up in a musical family and began singing at a young age. She studied at the Amsterdam Conservatory and later at the Juilliard School in New York City. Stotijn made her professional debut in 2000 at the Netherlands Opera, where she performed the role of Cherubino in Mozart's "The Marriage of Figaro." Her performance was widely praised, and she quickly became a rising star in the opera world. She went on to perform at some of the world's most prestigious opera houses, including the Royal Opera House in London, the Metropolitan Opera in New York, and the Paris Opera. In addition to her opera work, Stotijn has also established herself as a leading interpreter of art song and chamber music. She has collaborated with some of the world's most renowned pianists, including Julius Drake, Roger Vignoles, and Joseph Breinl. Her repertoire includes works by Schubert, Schumann, Brahms, Mahler, and many other composers. Stotijn has received numerous awards and accolades throughout her career.
