Teng Li is a renowned classical music artist who has made a name for herself as a violist. She was born in Shanghai, China, in 1987, and grew up in a family of musicians. Her father was a violinist, and her mother was a pianist, so it was only natural that Teng Li would develop an interest in music at a young age. Teng Li began playing the violin when she was just four years old, but she soon switched to the viola, which she found to be a more expressive and versatile instrument. She studied at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, where she was mentored by renowned violist Wang Jian. Teng Li quickly distinguished herself as a talented musician, and she won several awards and competitions during her time at the conservatory. After completing her studies in Shanghai, Teng Li moved to the United States to further her education. Teng Li thrived in this environment, and she quickly established herself as one of the top violists in the country. Teng Li's career as a professional musician began in earnest when she joined the Toronto Symphony Orchestra as principal violist in 2010.
