She grew up in a family of musicians, with her mother being a pianist and her father a cellist. From a young age, Annegeer showed a natural talent for music and began playing the violin at the age of four. Annegeer's parents recognized her potential and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. She began taking lessons with renowned violinists in the Netherlands and quickly gained recognition for her exceptional talent. At the age of 12, Annegeer won first prize in the National Violin Competition for Young Talent, which marked the beginning of her professional career. Throughout her teenage years, Annegeer continued to hone her skills and perform in various concerts and competitions. She studied at the Amsterdam Conservatory and later at the Juilliard School in New York City, where she received a full scholarship. Annegeer's breakthrough performance came in 2005 when she won the prestigious Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels, Belgium. She was the first Dutch violinist to win the competition in over 50 years and received widespread acclaim for her virtuosity and musicality. Following her victory at the Queen Elisabeth Competition, Annegeer was invited to perform with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the New York Philharmonic. She also made several recordings for major record labels, including Deutsche Grammophon and Sony Classical. In addition to her solo career, Annegeer was also a dedicated chamber musician. She was a founding member of the Stumphius Quartet, which was named after her family and consisted of her siblings and father. The quartet performed extensively throughout Europe and North America and received critical acclaim for their innovative programming and musicality. Throughout her career, Annegeer received numerous awards and honors for her contributions to classical music. In 2010, she was awarded the Dutch Music Prize, the highest honor for a classical musician in the Netherlands. She was also a recipient of the Avery Fisher Career Grant and the Borletti-Buitoni Trust Award. Despite her success, Annegeer remained humble and dedicated to her craft. She was known for her intense focus and dedication to every performance, and her passion for music was evident in every note she played. Tragically, Annegeer's career was cut short when she passed away in a car accident in 2012 at the age of 27. Her death was a great loss to the classical music world, and she is remembered as one of the most talented and promising violinists of her generation.More....
