Caitlin Hulcup is a renowned mezzo-soprano from Australia who has made a name for herself in the world of classical music. Born on 23rd May 1978 in Sydney, Hulcup grew up in a family of musicians. Her father was a cellist, and her mother was a pianist. Hulcup started playing the cello at the age of four and later switched to singing. Hulcup's musical journey began when she joined the Sydney Children's Choir at the age of seven. She continued to sing in choirs throughout her school years and later went on to study music at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
