Corina Marti is a Swiss musician who has made a name for herself in the world of classical music. Born in 1975, Marti grew up in a family of musicians and was exposed to music from a young age. She began playing the recorder at the age of six and quickly showed a talent for the instrument. Marti went on to study at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, a prestigious music school in Switzerland. There, she studied under the renowned recorder player Pedro Memelsdorff and honed her skills as a musician. She also studied harpsichord and medieval music, which would become important parts of her repertoire later on. After completing her studies, Marti began performing professionally. She quickly gained a reputation as a skilled and versatile musician, able to play a wide range of music from different periods and styles. She became known for her expressive playing and her ability to bring out the nuances and subtleties of the music she played. Over the years, Marti has performed in many prestigious venues around the world. She has played at the Wigmore Hall in London, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, and the Berlin Philharmonic, among others. She has also performed at many festivals, including the Utrecht Early Music Festival, the Festival Oude Muziek in Bruges, and the Festival de Musique Ancienne de Callas. Marti has also collaborated with many other musicians and ensembles over the years. She has worked with the Huelgas Ensemble, the Capella de la Torre, and the Ensemble Gilles Binchois, among others. She has also formed her own ensembles, including the ensemble La Morra, which specializes in medieval and Renaissance music. One of the highlights of Marti's career was her performance at the 2012 Bachfest Leipzig. She played the recorder in a performance of Bach's St. Matthew Passion, one of the composer's most famous works. The performance was widely praised for its emotional intensity and its faithful interpretation of Bach's music. Marti has also received many awards and honors over the years. In 2005, she was awarded the Swiss Music Prize, which recognizes outstanding musicians in Switzerland. She has also been awarded the Prix Culturel de la Ville de Lausanne and the Prix de la Fondation Suisa, among others.
