She later picked up the violin and the cello, and by the age of ten, she was already performing in public. Bourne attended the Royal Academy of Music in London, where she studied under some of the most renowned classical musicians of the time. She graduated with honors and went on to pursue a career as a soloist and chamber musician. Bourne's career took off in 2005 when she won the prestigious International Violin Competition in Paris. Her performance of Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto in D Major was hailed as one of the most electrifying performances in the history of the competition. This win catapulted Bourne to international fame, and she began receiving invitations to perform at some of the world's most prestigious concert halls. Over the years, Bourne has performed with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the New York Philharmonic, and the Berlin Philharmonic. She has also collaborated with some of the most renowned conductors of our time, including Sir Simon Rattle, Daniel Barenboim, and Riccardo Muti. One of Bourne's most memorable performances was at the 2012 Proms in London. She has also been awarded the Royal Philharmonic Society's Instrumentalist Award and the Gramophone Award for Best Chamber Music Recording. In addition to her solo career, Bourne is also an accomplished chamber musician. She has performed with some of the world's leading chamber ensembles, including the Emerson String Quartet and the Guarneri Quartet. She is also a founding member of the Bourne Trio, which has been praised for its "exquisite musicianship and perfect ensemble playing." Bourne is known for her passionate and expressive playing style.
