Born on 22nd September 1954 in Stockholm, Sweden, Ohrwall showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of six. His parents, who were both musicians, recognized his talent and encouraged him to pursue a career in music. Ohrwall's early musical education was at the Adolf Fredrik Music School in Stockholm, where he studied piano, composition, and conducting. He later went on to study at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, where he received a degree in piano performance. During his time at the Royal College of Music, Ohrwall was awarded several scholarships and prizes for his outstanding performances. After completing his studies, Ohrwall began his career as a pianist, performing in concerts and recitals across Europe and the United States.
