The Graunke Symphony Orchestra is a classical music ensemble based in Munich, Germany. Founded in 1945 by conductor Kurt Graunke, the orchestra has become one of the most renowned and respected orchestras in Europe. Kurt Graunke was born in Munich in 1915 and began his musical career as a violinist. He studied at the Munich Conservatory and later became a member of the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra.
