Birth:January 22, 1993Beatrice Rana is a renowned Italian classical pianist who has gained international recognition for her exceptional talent and musical prowess. Born on January 20, 1993, in Copertino, Italy, Rana began playing the piano at the age of four and showed remarkable progress in her musical abilities from a young age. Rana's musical journey began under the guidance of her father, Antonio Rana, who was a jazz pianist. However, it was her mother, who introduced her to classical music, and Rana soon developed a deep passion for the genre. She began taking piano lessons with Benedetto Lupo, a renowned Italian pianist, and later studied under Arie Vardi at the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover in Germany. Rana's talent was evident from the start, and she quickly gained recognition for her exceptional skills. In 2011, she won the Montreal International Musical Competition, which marked a significant milestone in her career. The following year, she won the Silver Medal and the Audience Award at the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, which further cemented her position as one of the most promising young pianists of her generation. Since then, Rana has performed at some of the most prestigious concert halls and festivals around the world, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the Royal Albert Hall in London, the Carnegie Hall in New York, and the Salzburg Festival. She has collaborated with some of the most renowned conductors and orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Philadelphia Orchestra. One of Rana's most notable performances was her debut at the BBC Proms in 2016, where she performed Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No. 3 with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra. Her performance was widely praised, with critics describing it as "spellbinding" and "mesmerizing." The same year, she also made her debut at the Edinburgh International Festival, where she performed a solo recital that received critical acclaim. Rana's repertoire is diverse, ranging from classical to contemporary music. She has a particular affinity for the works of Bach, and her performance of his Goldberg Variations has been widely praised. She has also recorded several albums, including a critically acclaimed recording of Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Orchestra dell'Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia. In addition to her numerous performances and recordings, Rana has also received several awards and accolades throughout her career. In 2017, she was awarded the prestigious Echo Klassik Award for her recording of Bach's Goldberg Variations. She has also been named a BBC New Generation Artist and a Borletti-Buitoni Trust Fellow. Despite her young age, Rana has already established herself as one of the most talented and accomplished classical pianists of her generation. Her exceptional musical abilities, combined with her passion and dedication to her craft, have earned her a place among the most celebrated musicians of our time.More....
