The CSR Symphony Orchestra is a classical music ensemble based in Bratislava, Slovakia. The orchestra was founded in 1929 as the Radiojournal Symphony Orchestra, and it has since become one of the most prominent orchestras in Central Europe. The orchestra's founding members were a group of talented musicians who were passionate about classical music and wanted to create a professional ensemble that could perform at the highest level. Over the years, the orchestra has undergone several name changes, but its commitment to excellence has remained constant. The CSR Symphony Orchestra has received numerous awards and accolades over the years, including the Slovak National Prize for Music in 1993 and the UNESCO Mozart Medal in 1996. The orchestra has also been recognized for its commitment to contemporary music, and it has premiered many new works by Slovakian composers.
