Peter Cigleris is a British clarinetist who has established himself as one of the most exciting and versatile musicians of his generation. Born in 1992 in London, Cigleris began playing the clarinet at the age of eight and quickly showed a natural talent for the instrument. He went on to study at the Royal College of Music in London, where he was awarded the prestigious Tagore Gold Medal for outstanding achievement. Cigleris has since gone on to perform extensively throughout the UK and internationally, collaborating with some of the world's leading orchestras and conductors. He has also been a regular guest artist at major music festivals, including the Edinburgh International Festival, the Cheltenham Music Festival, and the BBC Proms. One of Cigleris's most notable performances came in 2015, when he was invited to perform as a soloist with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at the Royal Albert Hall in London. The concert, which was part of the orchestra's "Best of British" series, featured Cigleris performing Mozart's Clarinet Concerto in A major, one of the most beloved works in the clarinet repertoire. The performance was widely praised for Cigleris's virtuosic playing and his ability to bring out the emotional depth of the music. Cigleris has also been recognized for his work as a chamber musician, performing with some of the world's leading ensembles and musicians. In 2017, he was invited to join the prestigious London Conchord Ensemble, a group of musicians known for their innovative programming and virtuosic playing. With the ensemble, Cigleris has performed at major venues throughout the UK and Europe, including Wigmore Hall in London and the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. In addition to his work as a performer, Cigleris is also a dedicated teacher and mentor. He has taught at several music schools and conservatories throughout the UK, and has worked with young musicians as part of the London Music Masters program, which provides music education to children from disadvantaged backgrounds. Cigleris's dedication to music has been recognized with several awards and honors. In addition to the Tagore Gold Medal, he has been awarded the Worshipful Company of Musicians Silver Medal, the Royal College of Music Clarinet Prize, and the Countess of Munster Musical Trust Award. He has also been a finalist in several prestigious competitions, including the BBC Young Musician of the Year and the Royal Overseas League Music Competition. Despite his many accomplishments, Cigleris remains humble and focused on his craft.
