Artist Info
Adèle Charvet is a French mezzo-soprano who has quickly risen to prominence in the classical music world. Born in 1992 in Toulouse, France, Charvet grew up in a musical family and began singing at a young age. She studied at the Conservatoire de Toulouse and later at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, where she graduated with honors. Charvet's career began to take off in 2016 when she won the prestigious Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels, Belgium. This win brought her international attention and led to performances with major orchestras and opera companies around the world. One of Charvet's most notable performances was in 2017 when she made her debut at the Glyndebourne Festival Opera in the role of Cherubino in Mozart's "Le nozze di Figaro." Her performance was widely praised, with critics noting her "rich, warm voice" and "captivating stage presence." Charvet has since returned to Glyndebourne for several productions, including the role of Rosina in Rossini's "Il barbiere di Siviglia" in 2019. In addition to her work in opera, Charvet is also a sought-after concert performer. She has performed with major orchestras such as the London Symphony Orchestra, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the Orchestre de Paris. One of her most memorable performances was in 2018 when she sang the alto solo in Mahler's Symphony No. 2 with the Orchestre National de France. Her performance was described as "spellbinding" and "emotionally charged." Charvet has also been recognized for her recordings. In 2019, she released her debut album, "Chants d'Amour," which features French art songs by composers such as Debussy, Fauré, and Duparc. The album received critical acclaim and was nominated for a Victoires de la Musique award, one of the most prestigious music awards in France. Despite her success, Charvet remains humble and dedicated to her craft. She has spoken about the importance of constantly learning and growing as a musician, saying, "I always try to find new ways to approach a piece of music, to find new colors and nuances in my voice. It's a never-ending process." Looking to the future, Charvet has several exciting projects in the works. She will be making her debut at the Metropolitan Opera in New York in the 2021-2022 season in the role of Rosina in "Il barbiere di Siviglia." She is also set to release a new album in 2022, which will feature works by French composer Francis Poulenc. In just a few short years, Adèle Charvet has established herself as one of the most exciting young voices in classical music. With her rich, expressive voice and captivating stage presence, she is sure to continue to captivate audiences around the world for years to come.More....
