Céline Moinet is a French oboist who has established herself as one of the leading classical musicians of her generation. Born on December 23, 1984, in Mulhouse, France, Moinet grew up in a family of musicians. Her father was a trumpet player, and her mother was a pianist. Moinet started playing the oboe at the age of eight and quickly showed a natural talent for the instrument. Moinet's early musical education was at the Conservatoire de Mulhouse, where she studied with Jean-Louis Capezzali. She later continued her studies at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, where she studied with David Walter. Moinet also attended masterclasses with renowned oboists such as Maurice Bourgue, Heinz Holliger, and Thomas Indermühle. Moinet's career as a professional musician began in 2006 when she won the position of principal oboist with the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra. She held this position until 2010 when she was appointed principal oboist with the Staatskapelle Dresden, one of the oldest and most prestigious orchestras in the world. Moinet has been a member of the Staatskapelle Dresden ever since and has performed with the orchestra in some of the world's most famous concert halls, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the Vienna Musikverein, and the Royal Albert Hall in London. Moinet's solo career has also been highly successful. She has performed as a soloist with many of the world's leading orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, and the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra. Moinet has also collaborated with some of the most renowned conductors of our time, including Sir Simon Rattle, Christian Thielemann, and Daniel Harding. One of the highlights of Moinet's career was her performance of Richard Strauss's Oboe Concerto with the Staatskapelle Dresden in 2014. The performance was recorded and released on CD, receiving critical acclaim and establishing Moinet as one of the leading interpreters of the piece. Moinet has also recorded several other albums, including a recording of Mozart's Oboe Concerto with the Kammerakademie Potsdam and a recording of Bach's Oboe Concertos with the Ensemble Resonanz. Moinet's talent and dedication to her craft have been recognized with numerous awards and honors. In 2005, she won first prize at the International Oboe Competition in Japan, and in 2007, she won the ARD International Music Competition in Munich. Moinet was also a finalist in the prestigious BBC New Generation Artists scheme in 2012, which recognizes the most promising young musicians in the world. In addition to her performing career, Moinet is also a dedicated teacher. She has taught at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich and the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris. Moinet is also a regular guest teacher at the International Summer Academy of the Mozarteum University in Salzburg. Moinet's playing is characterized by its clarity, precision, and expressiveness. She is known for her ability to bring out the emotional depth of the music she plays, whether it is a delicate Mozart concerto or a powerful Strauss tone poem. Moinet's dedication to her craft and her passion for music have made her one of the most respected and admired oboists of her generation.
