Cameron Crozman is a Canadian cellist who has made a name for himself in the classical music world. Born in 1997 in Ottawa, Canada, Crozman began playing the cello at the age of four. He grew up in a musical family, with both of his parents being professional musicians. His mother is a pianist and his father is a cellist, so it was only natural that Crozman would follow in their footsteps. Crozman's talent was evident from a young age, and he quickly became known as a prodigy. He began performing in public at the age of six, and by the time he was ten, he had already won several competitions. In 2009, he won first prize in the Canadian Music Competition, and in 2010, he won the Grand Prize at the National Music Festival. Crozman continued to excel in his musical studies, and in 2013, he was accepted into the prestigious Juilliard School in New York City. He studied under the renowned cellist Joel Krosnick, and during his time at Juilliard, he also had the opportunity to work with other world-class musicians, including Itzhak Perlman and Yo-Yo Ma. In 2016, Crozman graduated from Juilliard with a Bachelor of Music degree, and he went on to pursue a Master of Music degree at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München in Germany. He studied under the guidance of Wen-Sinn Yang, and during his time in Germany, he also had the opportunity to perform with the Munich Chamber Orchestra. Crozman's career as a professional cellist began to take off in 2017, when he won first prize at the OSM Manulife Competition in Montreal. This competition is one of the most prestigious in Canada, and winning it helped to establish Crozman as a rising star in the classical music world. Since then, Crozman has gone on to perform with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, the National Arts Centre Orchestra, and the Orchestre Métropolitain. He has also performed at some of the world's most renowned concert halls, including Carnegie Hall in New York City and the Berlin Philharmonic. Crozman's repertoire is diverse, and he is known for his ability to perform both classical and contemporary music with equal skill. He has premiered several new works by Canadian composers, including Andrew Staniland and Jordan Pal. In addition to his performances, Crozman is also a dedicated teacher. He has given masterclasses at several universities and conservatories, including the University of Ottawa and the Glenn Gould School in Toronto. He is also a mentor to young musicians through the National Youth Orchestra of Canada. Crozman's talent and dedication to his craft have not gone unnoticed, and he has received several awards and accolades throughout his career. In addition to his win at the OSM Manulife Competition, he has also won the Sylva Gelber Music Foundation Award and the Canada Council for the Arts' Michael Measures Prize. Despite his success, Crozman remains humble and focused on his music. He is constantly striving to improve his skills and to bring new and exciting music to audiences around the world.
