Artist Info
Birth:1988 in Lyon, FranceAstrig Siranossian is a French-Armenian cellist who has made a name for herself in the classical music world with her virtuosic playing and passionate interpretations of both traditional and contemporary repertoire. Born in 1987 in Marseille, France, Siranossian began playing the cello at the age of four, under the guidance of her father, a professional cellist himself. Siranossian's early musical education was heavily influenced by her Armenian heritage, and she was exposed to a wide range of traditional Armenian music from a young age. This early exposure to diverse musical styles would later inform her approach to classical music, as she sought to incorporate elements of her cultural background into her performances. As a young musician, Siranossian quickly distinguished herself as a prodigious talent, winning numerous awards and competitions throughout her teenage years. In 2005, she was awarded first prize at the International Cello Competition in Liezen, Austria, and in 2007 she won the prestigious Grand Prix Emmanuel Feuermann in Berlin, Germany. These early successes paved the way for Siranossian's career as a professional cellist, and she soon began performing regularly with some of the world's leading orchestras and conductors. In 2010, she made her debut with the Orchestre National de France, under the baton of conductor Daniele Gatti, and in 2012 she performed with the London Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Sir Simon Rattle. Siranossian's performances have been praised for their technical brilliance and emotional depth, and she has become known for her ability to bring a fresh perspective to even the most well-known works in the classical canon. In 2014, she released her debut album, "Khachaturian & Martinu: Cello Concertos," which was met with critical acclaim and further cemented her reputation as one of the most exciting young cellists of her generation. In addition to her work as a soloist, Siranossian is also an active chamber musician, and has collaborated with a wide range of musicians and ensembles throughout her career. She is a founding member of the Trio Karénine, a piano trio that has won numerous awards and accolades for their innovative and dynamic performances. Throughout her career, Siranossian has remained committed to promoting the music of her Armenian heritage, and has worked to bring greater attention to the rich and diverse musical traditions of the region. In 2015, she founded the Armenian Heritage Orchestra, a group dedicated to performing and promoting Armenian classical music. Despite her many accomplishments, Siranossian remains humble and dedicated to her craft, constantly seeking to improve and refine her playing. She is widely regarded as one of the most exciting and talented cellists of her generation, and her performances continue to captivate audiences around the world.More....
