Elisabeth Breul was born on May 12, 1985, in Vienna, Austria. She was born into a family of musicians, with her father being a renowned pianist and her mother a violinist. From a young age, Elisabeth showed a keen interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Elisabeth's parents recognized her talent and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. She began taking piano lessons with her father and quickly progressed, winning her first competition at the age of six. By the age of ten, Elisabeth had already performed in several concerts and had gained a reputation as a prodigious young talent. In 1996, Elisabeth was accepted into the Vienna Conservatory, where she studied under the tutelage of renowned pianist and teacher, Maria João Pires. During her time at the conservatory, Elisabeth honed her skills and developed her own unique style of playing. She also began to perform in concerts and recitals, gaining a following among classical music enthusiasts. In 2005, Elisabeth graduated from the Vienna Conservatory with honors and was awarded a scholarship to study at the Juilliard School in New York City. While at Juilliard, Elisabeth continued to refine her skills and was mentored by some of the most respected pianists in the world. She also began to perform in major concert halls, including Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. In 2008, Elisabeth won the prestigious Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, cementing her status as one of the world's top pianists. The competition, which is held every four years, attracts the best young pianists from around the world and is considered one of the most prestigious competitions in the classical music world. Following her win at the Van Cliburn Competition, Elisabeth's career took off. She began to perform in major concert halls around the world, including the Royal Albert Hall in London, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the Sydney Opera House. She also began to collaborate with some of the world's top orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the Berlin Philharmonic. In addition to her performances, Elisabeth has also recorded several albums, including a critically acclaimed recording of Beethoven's Piano Sonatas. Her recordings have received numerous awards and accolades, including a Grammy Award for Best Classical Instrumental Solo. Throughout her career, Elisabeth has been recognized for her exceptional talent and dedication to classical music. She has received numerous awards and honors, including the Order of Merit of the Republic of Austria and the Order of Arts and Letters from the French government.
