Born in 1952 in Somerset, England, Davies grew up in a musical family and began playing the flute at the age of nine. She showed exceptional talent and was soon accepted into the Junior Department of the Royal Academy of Music in London. Davies continued her studies at the Royal Academy of Music, where she was taught by renowned flutists such as William Bennett and Trevor Wye. She graduated with honors and went on to pursue a successful career as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral player. Davies has performed with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields. One of the highlights of Davies' career was her performance at the Last Night of the Proms in 1987.
